Welcome to our Online Sunday Service at Llanelwy Community Church. We welcome and thank Peter Cousins who is leading the service and is our speaker this week.
Feel free to use this service whenever you want. However, the idea is that, if you can, to start at 10:30 on Sunday. Then, at 11:45 on Sunday, we’ll have a zoom meeting at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87287366294. If you click on this link now, you can download the zoom client (which is free) so you are ready to go, or just use the webpage to join. Or you can dial in using the numbers below. If none of that works for you, please simply ring other people in the congregation or do a messenger-group-chats together (or however you do online chats!) encourage one-another and generally catch up with one another.
Please click on each item and read, or listen to the item, then when you are finished, come back to this page and click on the next item.
You should be able to click on the minimised embedded picture (which avoids adverts) and you can then maximise this to fill the screen. Other links (the green buttons) are also included in case of issues.
Sunday Service 6th December 2020
We invite you to light your second advent candle. Before you do, let’s be led in prayer by Revd. Phil Jump on Youtube
So let’s join in this prayer together as we light our advent candles:
We re-light this candle to remind us of the hope we have in God’s salvation.
(Light candle 1)
On this Second Sunday of Advent, we light this candle to remind us that God’s message is Love.
(Light candle 2)
God, we thank You for your message of Love, the Bible. Thank You that you gave Yourself for us because You love us. Thank you that call your people away from evil and You help them to turn to good and to love the poor. Thank you that you love all people. Help us to share your message of love.
Today’s Bible passage is Isaiah 54 verse 10. Here we read that God says, “ ’my heart of steadfast, faithful love will never leave you, and my covenant of peace with you will never be shaken,’ says Yahweh, whose love and compassion will never give up on you.”
We say together: (pause for 2 seconds)
- We eagerly wait for God.
- We pray that you would bring Hope, Love, Peace, Joy and Light this Christmas and forever
(all the music videos today have the words on the screen, so please join in at home if you wish)
(Pentatonix are a well-known American a capella group. No instruments – they even make the percussion noises themselves )
Prayer of Blessing (say together):
God’s blessing on Llanelwy
God’s blessing on our families
God’s blessing on our children
God’s blessing on those who live alone
God’s blessing on the schools
God’s blessing on the businesses
God’s blessing on the land and those who work it
God’s blessing on the weak
God’s blessing on the strong
The blessing of the Father who loves us
The blessing of the Son who died for us
The blessing of the Spirit who comforts and leads us
The blessing of the One God be on our community
This day and always. Amen
