Sunday Service 03-05-2020

3rd May 2020:

Welcome to our Online Sunday Service at Llanelwy Community Church.  Feel free to use this service whenever you want. However, the idea is that, if you can, to start at 10:30 on Sunday. During the service, (after an item) please add a comment on our facebook page to encourage a feeling of togetherness. Or send us a comment or greetings if you’ve done this at another time. Then, at 11:45 on Sunday, we’ll have a zoom meeting at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82813312027. If you click on this link now, you can download the zoom client (which is free) so you are ready to go, or just use the webpage to join. Or you can dial in using the numbers below. If none of that works for you, please simply ring other people in the congregation or do a messenger-group-chats together (or however you do online chats!) encourage one-another and generally catch up with one another.

Please click on each item and read, or listen to the item, then when you are finished, come back to this page and click on the next item.

Sunday Service 3rd May, 2020

Welcome and Call to Worship (Graeme): Listen and/or read below

There’s a great deal in this service about following Jesus – starting with the first song, which may be new, and which I hope you’ll enjoy. However, we are often reminded when reading the Bible that, if we ourselves follow Jesus – and, for that matter, if if we don’t – we can be certain of nothing more than that he, too, follows us – behind and before me, hemming me in, as the Psalmist writes. Let’s start the service by reminding ourselves of these much-loved opening words of Psalm 139, here in the New Living Translation:

O Lord, you have examined my heart, and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.

I pray this morning that we’re each able to feel God’s hand on our heads. Before carrying on with the service, take a moment to stop and feel His presence with us; to be thankful that he follows us every day of our lives; and to pray, too, for the strength to follow him in everything we do.
