Sunday Service – 2020-04-05 Palm Sunday

5th April 2020:

Welcome to our Online Sunday Service at Llanelwy Community Church.

Please phone John (07931150697) or Phil (Adey) if you’re struggling to get this working. We are still getting used to the technology, so please bear with us. We also hope to get a bit more tech-savy and add exciting items for the future – so hopefully that’ll be a blessing for everyone too. Please send us feedback and we’ll endeavor to improve.

Feel free to use this service whenever you want. However, the idea is that, if you can, you go through this at 10:30 on Sunday. During this, (after an item) please add a comment on our facebook page to encourage a feeling of togetherness. Then at 11:45, we’ll have a zoom meeting at https://zoom.us/j/182979159. If you click on this link now, you can download the zoom client (which is free) ready. If that doesn’t work for you, please simply ring other people in the congregation or do a messenger-group-chats together (or however you do online chats!) and generally catch up with one another.

Please click on each item and read, or listen to the item, then when you are finished, come back to this page and click on the next item.

Sunday Service 5th April, 2020.  Palm Sunday

Welcome and Call to Worship (Graeme): Listen and/or read below

We can’t currently meet together as a church – as a physical body of Christ, worshipping under the same roof – but we can share some words together as a liturgy.  This call to worship, especially for Palm Sunday and used by the Church of Scotland, is a beautiful introduction to our songs this morning.  If you’re reading the order of service as well as listening, please feel free to join in with the words in bold and know that others are doing the same.

Humble and riding on a donkey,

we greet you;

Acclaimed by crowds and caroled by children,

we cheer you;

moving from the peace of the countryside to the corridors of power,

We salute you: Christ our Lord.

You are giving the beast of burden

a new dignity;

you are giving majesty

a new face;

you are giving those who long for redemption

A new song to sing.

With them, with heart and voice, we shout:

Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
